What should a gym website look like? Class schedule, membership and trial class
Someone thinking of joining a gym looks for two things first: which class runs on which day, and whether they can come for a trial class. This article shows how to build a site that answers both.
In short
- The most viewed part of a gym website is the weekly class schedule; if it is out of date on the site, members phone to ask.
- In Heyşirket the class schedule is entered with day, time, trainer, studio and level; on the site it shows as a weekly grid filtered by category, and day by day on phones.
- The class schedule and trial class form are in the Professional plan; the site, trainer profiles and a contact form open on the free Starter plan.
- Do not promise results such as "guaranteed weight loss" in your copy; use members' photos only with written consent.
- Stating membership terms, freezing and cancellation rules clearly on the site reduces later disputes.
People thinking of joining a gym usually look in the evening, on their phone. Is it close to home, when is it open, which days have Pilates, can I come for a trial class? If the site does not answer, they either call or look at another gym. A good gym website answers these questions at first glance.
This article is for large gyms and small studios alike. A Pilates studio website, a yoga studio or a CrossFit box, the needs are the same: an up-to-date class schedule, trainer profiles, membership information and an easy trial class form. We start with pages, then the class schedule, and finally setup in Heyşirket.
Part 1 · Purpose What is a gym website for?
Social media shows your gym's atmosphere, but it is a poor place to look for information. Last month's schedule gets lost in the feed, a time change stays in a story. A website is a fixed address: the schedule is there, the prices are there, the contact details are there.
The site has three jobs: convincing newcomers, showing current members the latest schedule and reducing the questions you get. The measure of success is the same for all three: does the visitor find what they need without picking up the phone?
Part 2 · Pages Which pages should a gym website have?
| Page | What goes on it | Watch out |
|---|---|---|
| Home | Gym name, short intro, today's classes, trial class button | Address and opening hours on the first screen |
| Class schedule | Weekly classes: day, time, trainer, studio, level | Updated the same day as any change |
| Classes | What each class is, who it suits, its level | No promised results |
| Trainers | Name, photo, certificates, classes taught | Certificates written exactly as issued |
| Membership | Membership types, packages, freezing and cancellation terms | If you show prices, show them VAT included |
| The gym | Areas, equipment, changing rooms, parking | Real photos |
| Contact | Address, map, phone, WhatsApp, opening hours | Holiday arrangements |
| KVKK privacy notice and cookie policy | Which data forms collect and why (KVKK is Türkiye's data protection law) | Linked in the footer |
Part 3 · Class schedule How do you show a class schedule on the site?
The class schedule is the heart of a gym website. The most common mistake is posting it as an image or PDF. An image is unreadable on a phone, search engines cannot see inside it and it has to be redesigned with every change. Entering the schedule row by row as data makes life easier for you and your members.
In Heyşirket, when you install the Ders programı (Class schedule) feature, every session is one row. In a row you enter the Ders (class) name, Gün (day), Başlangıç and Bitiş (start and end time), Eğitmen (trainer), Salon (studio), Seviye (level) and Kategori (category). If a class runs three days a week, you enter three rows. You can add a short Not (note).
- Weekly grid on the site: The schedule appears as a weekly table on the home page or any page; visitors filter by category such as cardio, Pilates or yoga.
- Day by day on phones: On small screens a day-by-day list opens instead of the table, so class names and times are easy to read.
- Fix it in one record: When a class time changes, you edit only that row and the schedule on the site changes immediately.
- Hide, don't delete: A class you drop for the summer can be hidden without deleting and switched back on in autumn.
Part 4 · Requests How do you take trial class and membership requests?
Most new members start with a trial class. Instead of arranging it by phone, put a short form on the site. In the trial class form of Heyşirket's studio themes, the visitor enters their name and phone, picks the class and marks a suitable day and time. The request lands on the Talepler (Requests) screen of your company panel and you get an email.
The path of a trial class request
The visitor picks a class
Example: reformer Pilates, Saturday morning. They enter their name, phone and optionally an email.
The request reaches the panel
It is listed with the form's name and the chosen class.
You get back to them
You call to confirm their place and update the request status.
You follow up
On the Professional plan you assign the request to a trainer, set a reminder and track it in list or board view.
We explain how to handle incoming requests in managing site requests and how booking works in online appointment system. Details of request tracking are on the forms and requests page.
Part 5 · Language and rules What should you watch out for when promoting a gym?
Sport is closely linked to health, and promotional language slides easily into exaggeration. Commercial advertising rules prohibit unprovable claims and misleading promises. Be even more careful with sentences about health.
| Don't write | Why | Instead |
|---|---|---|
| "Lose 10 kilos in 30 days, guaranteed" | Promise of results, varies from person to person | Describe the programme's content and frequency |
| "Pilates that cures herniated discs" | A treatment claim reads like a health service | "A class focused on posture and flexibility" |
| "The best gym in town" | Unprovable superiority claim | Describe your areas and equipment concretely |
| Members' before-and-after photos (without consent) | Personal data, written consent required | Photos of the gym and the classes |
| Prices excluding VAT, in small print | Consumer prices are shown with taxes included | Show the price clearly, VAT included |
Part 6 · Visibility How do people find your gym in search?
Most gym searches are local: "Pilates Kadıköy", "gym near me" and so on. Three things work together to stand out in these searches. First, a Google Business Profile, which puts you on the map. Second, the name, address and phone on your site matching the profile exactly. Third, pages that describe each class plainly, with simple headings.
On the Professional plan, the company panel's local SEO checklist checks that the name, address and phone on your site are consistent and shows what is missing. You manage the Google Business Profile yourself in Google's own screens; we explain how to open one in how to open a Google Business Profile. Details are on the local SEO page.
Part 7 · Setup How do you build a gym website in Heyşirket?
In Heyşirket every company has one company panel and the website is one of its modules. Two ready-made themes are designed for this: Güç for gyms, CrossFit and combat sports comes with a class schedule, membership prices, trainers and a BMI calculator. Nefes for yoga, Pilates and meditation studios has class schedule, studio, trainers, packages and trial class sections.
A gym website in five steps
Open your company panel
Start for free and choose Güç or Nefes from the sport and fitness themes.
Add your trainers
With Ekip profilleri (Team profiles), open a page for each trainer with photo, certificates and classes. This feature is also on the Starter plan.
Set up the class schedule
On the Professional plan, install Ders programı (Class schedule) from the Özellik mağazası (Feature store), enter classes with day and time and add the schedule to the home page.
Turn on the trial class form
Put the trial class form on the home page and list your classes as its options.
Connect reviews and Instagram
On Professional you can collect reviews from members and publish the ones you approve, and show your Instagram posts on the site. Details: customer reviews.
Step-by-step guide in the panel: Help › Feature store. During setup each step opens the relevant screen and is ticked off automatically when done.
Part 8 · Running the business After the site: membership invoices and product sales
In Professional and above, pre-accounting is included with no separate subscription. You issue the invoice for the membership fee and track the payment in the same place. Whether the invoice is an e-Fatura or an e-Arşiv invoice (Türkiye's two electronic invoice types) is chosen automatically from the recipient's status; this needs an e-document provider connection.
- Card payment: If you connect your own iyzico account, a Kartla öde (Pay by card) link is added to the invoice, the member pays by card and the payment is recorded against the invoice.
- Products and stock: If you sell water, protein, tape or equipment, you enter products with stock and they are deducted as they sell.
- Class packages: In pre-accounting, the class and session packages screen opens for education, beauty and health professions. If you set up your studio with education/courses as the profession, you can sell a 10-class package and deduct one class per session.
What should a gym website include?
A home page, weekly class schedule, classes, trainers, membership terms, photos of the gym, contact details and a KVKK privacy notice. A trial class form is the easiest way to win new members.
How do I keep the class schedule up to date on the site?
Enter the schedule row by row instead of as an image or PDF. In Heyşirket's class schedule feature each session is a separate row with day, time, trainer and studio; when a time changes you edit only that row and the schedule on the site changes immediately.
Which theme suits a Pilates studio website?
Heyşirket has the Nefes theme for yoga, Pilates and meditation studios, with class schedule, studio, trainers, packages and trial class sections. For gyms and CrossFit, the Güç theme comes with a class schedule, membership prices and trainers.
Which plan includes the class schedule?
The class schedule and trial class form are in the Professional plan: 699.99 TL/month or 6,999.90 TL/year, VAT included. The site, trainer profiles and a contact form open on the free Starter plan.
Can members book classes on the site?
No. The site has no member login for classes and no class booking. Visitors leave a trial class or information request, it lands in your company panel and you get back to them.
Enter your class schedule Add weekly classes with day, time and trainer, and the schedule on your site updates itself. Go to class schedule
If you don't have a site yet, you can start for free and compare plans on the pricing page.
