Dental clinic SEO: how a dentist gets found on Google without breaking advertising rules
Someone with toothache asks Google first. Your clinic showing up at that moment isn't luck but the result of a few jobs done regularly. This article walks through them in order, without promising rankings and within health advertising rules.
In short
- Dental clinic SEO is the regular work that makes your clinic's site and map listing show up when patients search for things like "implant kadıköy", "dentist near me" or "how is a root canal done".
- Google ranks local results mainly on relevance, distance and prominence; nobody can guarantee a particular position.
- The most effective steps are a separate informative page for each treatment, exactly the same name, address and phone on the site and the Google Business Profile, a fast mobile-friendly site and a Search Console connection.
- Health advertising rules apply to SEO too: words such as "best", "cheap", "guaranteed" and "painless", and prices, aren't used even to stand out in search.
- In Heyşirket, basic SEO is on the free Starter plan; keyword tracking, site audit, the speed report and local SEO are in Professional; SEO work done by the team is in Premium. There's no automatic connection to the Google Business Profile.
Someone woken by toothache at midnight types "dentist open now" into their phone. Someone else has been researching implants for months and is reading "how is an implant done". Both decide based on what they see on Google's first screen. Dental clinic SEO is the regular work that puts your clinic in front of them with accurate information at those moments.
Let's be clear from the start: nobody can guarantee you a particular position on Google, so be wary of anyone who does. What you can do is help Google understand you correctly and help patients find what they're looking for on your page. This article explains how to do that step by step without breaking the advertising rules for dentistry.
Part 1 · Search intent How do patients search for a dentist on Google?
Not all dental searches have the same intent. Knowing which page should answer which type of search is half of SEO.
| Search type | Example | Page that answers it |
|---|---|---|
| Nearby and urgent | "dentist near me", "dental clinic open now" | Map listing, home page, contact and opening hours |
| Treatment and district | "implant kadıköy", "orthodontics çankaya" | That treatment's page, with the district mentioned naturally in the contact details |
| Information question | "how many sessions is a root canal", "when should a wisdom tooth come out" | FAQs on the treatment page and blog posts |
| Dentist's name | "dt. first last" | The dentist's profile page |
| Clinic name | "clinic name dental" | Home page and map listing |
The conclusion is simple: a single home page can't answer every search. Each treatment, each dentist and the common questions need their own well-written page.
Part 2 · Local SEO How does a dentist stand out on Google Maps?
Google says local results are based mainly on three factors: relevance (how well the business matches the search), distance (how close it is to the searched location) and prominence (how well known the business is, including reviews, links and the state of its site). Source: Google Business Profile help page. You can't change distance; for the other two there's plenty you can do:
- Complete the profile: The right primary category, opening hours, photos and a link to your site. We explain opening a profile in how to create a Google Business Profile.
- Keep the name, address and phone identical everywhere: Even "Cad." on the site and "Caddesi" on the profile can count as an inconsistency. Write it correctly once and use the same everywhere.
- Don't add keywords to the clinic name: Names like "Name Dental Clinic Implant Orthodontics Kadıköy" break Google's guidelines and can get the profile suspended.
- Reply to reviews briefly and neutrally: Say thank you, but don't confirm that the person is your patient or mention their treatment. Don't offer gifts or discounts in exchange for reviews.
Heyşirket has no automatic connection to the Google Business Profile; you manage the profile yourself. What the panel does is check the information on your site: the Local SEO screen in the Professional plan compares your business profile with the live site and its structured data, lists name, address and phone inconsistencies and shows your "near me" and district searches separately. Details on the local SEO page.
Part 3 · Content Treatment pages are the core of SEO
Open a separate page for each treatment, such as implants, root canal treatment, orthodontics, teeth whitening and wisdom tooth extraction. When a patient searches "how is an implant done", they land straight on that page. A good treatment page covers what the treatment is, who it's considered for, its stages, duration, aftercare and frequently asked questions. We describe the page structure in detail in what a clinic website should look like.
- Write the heading in the patient's words: "root canal treatment" instead of, or next to, "endodontic treatment".
- Write each page title and description individually: The title and description each page shows in search results should be different.
- Answer questions on the page: Questions like "how many sessions does it take" and "what can I eat afterwards" answer both patients and AI-assisted search.
- Show the dentist's review: If a dentist read the text, say so on the page with the date; it builds trust.
- Link treatments to each other: Linking from the implant page to the implant-supported prosthesis page takes both visitors and Google to the right place.
In Heyşirket, posts and treatment pages have a Reviewed by the doctor mark and a review date; when you tick it, it appears on the page. The 3D treatment explainer in the Professional plan adds a home page section that explains treatments such as implants, root canal, zirconia, clear aligners and whitening step by step with animation; visual explanation shows the process without before-and-after photos.
Part 4 · Rules How do health advertising rules affect SEO?
Some of the most searched words for SEO are words that shouldn't be used to promote dentistry. "Best implant", "cheap dental clinic", "painless root canal" and "free check-up" are searched a lot, but putting these phrases on your page conflicts with health advertising rules. Standing out in search isn't a reason to bend them.
| Don't | Instead |
|---|---|
| "Best", "cheapest", "leader" in the title | Treatment name and district: "Implant treatment in Kadıköy" |
| A price page, "implant prices 2026" content | A page explaining the treatment process and the factors that affect cost in general terms |
| "Painless", "guaranteed", "100% success" | An honest account of the process and possible discomfort |
| A before-and-after gallery | Illustration, animation or a step-by-step explanation |
| Featuring patient reviews on the site as promotion | Informative content and dentist profiles |
| A "specialist" title without a certificate | The title exactly as documented |
When you edit a page in the Heyşirket panel, the Health advertising rules check on the SEO tab flags phrases such as "the best", "the cheapest", "cheap", "guaranteed", "painless", "100%", "specialist", "campaign", "discount", "free" and "leader" (checked in Turkish), prices written in TL and before-and-after patterns. If one of these is found, the page's SEO score can't go above 49, so you won't miss the warning.
Part 5 · Technical Technical check: speed, mobile and Search Console
Most dental searches happen on phones. A page that loads slowly or looks broken on a phone gets abandoned, however good the content. On the technical side, check these:
Technical SEO check
- The site opens fast on a phone; large images are compressed.
- There's a sitemap and it's been submitted to Google Search Console.
- Every page has its own title and description; no duplicate titles.
- No broken links or pages that fail to load.
- The site has local business structured data; the name, address and phone match the profile.
In Heyşirket, titles and descriptions, the sitemap, redirects and the content SEO score are on the free Starter plan. When the title or clinic name in your business profile mentions dentistry, the site's structured data is generated with the dentist type. You connect Search Console and Google Analytics in a few minutes with the steps in connecting Search Console to your site.
Part 6 · Measurement How do you measure SEO work?
SEO results arrive over weeks and months, so working without measuring is guesswork. The indicators to watch: which searches you appear in, your position in those searches, the number of clicks, which treatment pages get visits and how many calls or booking requests those visits bring.
| Tool | What it shows | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Basic SEO | Title, description, sitemap, redirects, content SEO score | Starter |
| Visitor summary | Visitor and search summary for the last 28 days | Starter |
| Keywords | Search queries, ranking changes, opportunity keywords | Professional |
| Page reports and site audit | Clicks, position and speed per page; broken links, missing titles | Professional |
| Speed report | PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals history | Professional |
| Local SEO | Name, address and phone consistency, local business schema, "near me" searches | Professional |
| AI visibility | Crawls by AI bots and visits coming from them | Professional |
| Competitor and rank tracking | Daily ranking history for target keywords | Premium |
We describe all the tools on the SEO tools page. Step-by-step guide in the panel: Help › SEO centre.
Part 7 · Choice Should you do dental clinic SEO yourself or with a team?
For a single-dentist practice, writing treatment pages, keeping the profile up to date and checking Search Console once a month is often enough. The tools in the Professional plan guide you through this. For multi-dentist clinics in competitive districts, a regular content plan, technical SEO and link-building work are needed.
In the Premium plan the Heyşirket team does this work: custom site design, technical SEO, a content plan, link building, local SEO and a monthly report. The team doesn't guarantee rankings either; it shares what was done and the results in a report. Details on the SEO service page, and what comes ready for dental clinics on the Heyşirket for dental clinics page.
Can you get my dental clinic to number one on Google?
Nobody can guarantee a particular position on Google; Google decides the ranking. What can be done is to get treatment pages, local information and the technical setup in order and measure the results regularly.
How long does dental clinic SEO take to show results?
It depends on competition in the district, the site's current state and how much content is produced. Technical fixes can show an effect within a few weeks; content and local work usually show results over months.
Should I put implant prices on the site for SEO?
No. Publishing prices when promoting health services is considered demand-creating. A page that explains the treatment process and the factors affecting cost in general terms is both compliant and useful to patients.
Do Google reviews affect rankings?
Google states that review count and score are part of the prominence factor in local ranking. Reply to reviews briefly and neutrally, don't confirm that the person is your patient, and don't offer discounts or gifts in exchange for reviews.
Does Heyşirket manage my Google Business Profile?
No, there's no automatic connection to the Google Business Profile in the panel; you manage the profile yourself. The panel checks the consistency of the name, address and phone on your site and connects directly to Search Console and Google Analytics. In the Premium plan, the team carries out local SEO work.
