Why it matters

How it works
- Enter your domain: On Settings › Domains, type your domain without www.
- Choose the use: Site only, or Site + admin panel; with the second the panel also opens at yourdomain.com/admin.
- Add the records: Copy the CNAME and verification (TXT) records shown into your registrar's DNS settings.
- Wait for verification: The screen checks the records itself; it usually takes 5–30 minutes, sometimes a few hours.
- You're live: Once the status is Connected, SSL is ready; your site opens over https and you get an e-mail.

You can't buy a domain from the panel yet; registration and renewal stay with the company you bought it from. As we don't provide a fixed IP, for registrars that don't allow a CNAME at the root the wizard shows two options: move the nameservers to a free Cloudflare account, or redirect the root to the www address.
Frequently asked questions
Does connecting a domain cost anything?
No. On the free Starter plan you connect one domain of your own, SSL included. The domain limit for paid plans is shown at the top of the Domains screen.
Which registrar should my domain be with?
It doesn't matter. It works with any registrar where you can add DNS records. The wizard shows separate steps for common registrars, and our blog has registrar-specific guides.
Why is verification taking long?
DNS changes usually spread in 5–30 minutes, sometimes a few hours. Delete any old A or CNAME record on the same name; if you use Cloudflare, switch the records from the orange cloud to the grey cloud (DNS only).
Will my current e-mail be affected?
No, as long as you don't touch the MX records. Connecting a domain only needs the CNAME and TXT records shown on screen. To open an e-mail address on the same domain, use the E-mail section of your company panel.
Will my heysirket.com address stop working?
No. Your yourname.heysirket.com address keeps working, while Google is shown your own domain.
