How much does a website cost in 2026? What you pay for

A website's price isn't a single number; it's the sum of several items. If you know which item you pay to whom, you can compare quotes properly.

In short

• The cost of a website is made up of domain, hosting, SSL, design, content, maintenance, email and SEO; some items are paid once and some every year.
• The domain is always a separate item, paid yearly to the company you buy it from; the price varies by extension and provider.

The honest answer to "how much does a website cost?" is "it depends on what you need". For the same question one company may quote a thousand lira and another a hundred thousand; neither may be wrong, because they're selling different things. The cost of a website isn't one number but the sum of several items.

In this article we separate those items one by one: which are paid once, which renew every year, and which stay hidden. Because market prices vary a lot by provider, scope and period, we don't make up averages; we do list Heyşirket's plan prices exactly as they are.

Part 1 · Items What items make up the cost of a website?

Ask which of these items a quote includes. A quote that gives a single number may only cover design; hosting, email and maintenance may be billed separately every year.

Part 2 · Infrastructure How much do a domain, hosting and SSL cost?

The domain is always a separate item. It's rented yearly from a domain provider; the price depends on the extension (.com, .com.tr, .net and so on) and the provider. Some providers offer a discounted first year and raise the price at renewal, so look at the renewal price, not just the first-year price. Buying a domain directly from Heyşirket isn't available yet; you buy your domain from any provider and connect it.

Hosting is where your site lives on the internet. With a site you build on your own, you rent hosting separately; the price varies with package size, traffic and support. An SSL certificate lets your site open securely over https; today it's considered a must and many providers include it.

In Heyşirket, hosting and SSL aren't separate items. Your site is published on the platform, and when you connect your own domain the panel sets up the SSL certificate itself. On the Starter plan, 1 custom domain is connected for free. For the steps, see connecting your own domain.

Part 3 · Design Design and content: the item that varies most

The big differences between website design prices usually come from design and content. There are three routes:

• You build it yourself: you choose a ready-made theme, add your logo and colors and write the texts. You spend time instead of money.
• You hire a designer or an agency: a custom design, usually a one-off setup fee followed by a maintenance agreement. Prices vary widely on the market depending on scope and provider.
• You buy the platform and the service together: plans that bring design, hosting and SEO together in a single subscription.

Content is the item most often forgotten. If a quote says "you'll provide the texts", you'll have to prepare the service pages, the about us text and the photos. Knowing this from the start keeps the launch date from slipping by months.

Part 4 · Ongoing Maintenance, email and SEO: yearly costs

Costs continue after your site goes live. Maintenance on a system you set up yourself means updates, security patches and backups; if neglected, the site breaks or gets hacked. Email on your own domain may require a separate service and is usually charged per address. For SEO, you either use tools or hire a specialist.

In Heyşirket, hosting, system updates and SSL renewal are the platform's job; you don't pay extra. You can also download a backup of your site from the panel whenever you want. Part 5 · Site type Which item grows with which type of site?

Every site has the same items, but their weight changes. The difference between a showcase site and a store is usually not in the design but in running costs.

An online store also needs legal texts such as a distance sales contract, a pre-information form and return and delivery terms. In Heyşirket, sites set up as online stores get these pages with sample text; you still need a lawyer to check them before going live. For card payments, the payment provider's fee is deducted under your own agreement with them; it isn't part of the site plan. We cover store setup in getting started with e-commerce.

Part 6 · Plans Heyşirket website prices for 2026

The domain is always paid separately to the company you buy it from. Prices include VAT as of 26 October 2026; current prices are on the Pricing page.

On Professional and higher plans, the bookkeeping and e-Fatura (Türkiye's e-invoice) module is included, with no separate subscription. The e-document credits used for e-Fatura and e-Arşiv invoices are separate from the plan and bought at the provider's price. Part 7 · Free Is a free website really free?

With free site offers, check two things: can the site be published on your own domain, and does the free plan close after a while? Heyşirket's Starter plan has no time limit; your site goes live at name.heysirket.com right away, and you can connect 1 custom domain for free. In return, the site footer shows a small "Built with Heyşirket" signature.

Part 8 · Checklist Questions to ask when comparing quotes

• Is VAT included in the price?
• Are the setup fee and the yearly renewal fee stated separately?
• In whose name will the domain be registered? It should be yours.
• Are hosting, SSL and backups included?
• Who will prepare the texts and photos?
• Is email on your own domain included, and how many addresses?
• Will you be able to update the site yourself, or does every change cost extra?
• When the contract ends, can you take your site and content with you?

The last question is the one most often skipped.
