Getting started with e-commerce on your website: store, products and payments
Selling on a marketplace is easy, but the customer belongs to the marketplace, not to you. Opening a store on your own site keeps your brand and your customer relationships in your hands.
In short
- In the Heyşirket site panel, the store (products, orders, card payments and invoicing) is in the Agency plan; it appears locked on Starter and Professional.
- Site setup is free; preparing your product list, prices and delivery rules before switching to the store speeds things up.
- When selling online, your distance sales contract, pre-sale information form and return policy must be published on your site.
- To track invoices and collections for your sales, you can use Heyşirket pre-accounting alongside it (paid, with a 14-day free trial).
For most businesses, starting e-commerce looks like "pick a store theme and upload products." In reality, most of the work is the preparation before the products and after the order: pricing, stock, shipping, returns and invoicing. This article lays out the roadmap for moving to a store in the Heyşirket site panel and what to watch out for.
Part 1 Preparing before the store
The healthiest path is to set up your site for free, publish your showcase pages, and then move to the store. That way your domain, design and SEO are settled before you start selling. We cover free site setup in how to build a free website.
Prepare these before uploading products
- Product list: name, short description, price (VAT included) and any options (size, color).
- At least one clear, well-lit photo for each product.
- Shipping company, shipping fee and delivery time.
- Return and exchange policy.
- Distance sales contract and pre-sale information form.
- An account with a payment provider to accept card payments.
Part 2 The journey of an order
- Product — Live in the store
- Order — Customer confirms the cart
- Card payment — 3-D Secure
- Invoice — The sale is documented
- Shipping — Delivery
The store in the Agency plan handles the site side of this flow: it lists products, takes the order, processes the card payment and ties it into invoicing. How you prepare and ship orders after they arrive depends on your own workflow; checking every order by hand in the first few weeks cuts down on surprises.
Part 3 Invoicing, collections and pre-accounting
As online sales grow, the real workload builds up on the accounting side: an invoice for every order, payouts from the payment provider, returns and shipping costs. Heyşirket pre-accounting (the portal) is built to handle this: invoices and e-Arşiv (Turkish e-archive invoices), collections, expenses and bank matching all live in one place. Pre-accounting is separate and paid, with a 14-day free trial; you can use it together with your site panel.
Part 4 Moving to the Agency plan
Check your plan
In the panel, open Settings › My plan and billing; your current plan and locked features are shown here.
Upgrade
Choose the Agency plan and upgrade. The store menu and screens unlock.
Add your products
Enter products from the list you prepared; we recommend starting with a few products and placing a test order.
Publish your legal texts
Make sure your distance sales contract, pre-sale information form and return policy are accessible on your site.
Can I sell products on the free plan?
No. The free Starter plan includes a showcase site, form requests and core SEO; the store (products, orders, card payments and invoicing) is in the Agency plan.
Will my site's address change when I switch to the store?
No. Your site stays on the same subdomain or the custom domain you connected; the store screens are added to the same site.
Is there a separate charge for pre-accounting?
Yes. Heyşirket pre-accounting is a separate, paid product; you can try it free for 14 days.
