Homepage sections: reorder, show or hide, and edit
Your homepage is your shop window. A few sections in the right order tell visitors who you are, what you do and how to reach you, all in a single scroll.
In short
- The homepage is made up of stacked sections, and each section does one job.
- The Design › Homepage screen shows your sections as a visual list where you reorder, show, hide and edit them.
- You can do the same thing with a live preview from Design › Customize.
- The Starter plan includes the core sections; the Professional plan unlocks every section type and style setting.
Most visitors don't read your homepage from top to bottom; they skim as they scroll. That's why a homepage shouldn't be one long block of text but a set of sections, each answering a single question: What do you do? Why should I trust you? How do I reach you? In the Heyşirket site panel, you manage these sections like a list.
Part 1 What does each section do?
Available section types may vary by theme; the table below sums up the purpose of the sections small business sites use most. The sample order usually works well for a clinic, a consultancy or a local shop.
| Section | Question it answers | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Hero (top area) | What do you do, and for whom? | A one-sentence headline and a single main button |
| Services | What work do you do? | 3–6 cards, each linking to its own page |
| About us | Who are you, and why you? | A short paragraph and a real photo |
| Reviews | What do others say? | Real customer reviews (Professional) |
| FAQ | What's the question on my mind? | The 4–6 questions you get asked most on the phone |
| Contact | How do I reach you? | Form, phone, address and map |
Part 2 The Homepage screen
When you open Design › Homepage in the site panel, you see your homepage sections from top to bottom as a list with previews. The list matches the order on your site: the top section in the list appears at the very top of the page.
Editing your sections
Reorder
Move a section up or down the list. Put your most important message on the first screen and your contact section at the bottom.
Show or hide
If a section's content isn't ready yet, hide it instead of deleting it. A hidden section doesn't appear on your site, but its settings are kept, so you can turn it back on when it's ready.
Edit
Open a section to change its heading, text, image and button. Keep the text short: ideally each section fits on a single phone screen.
Preview and publish
Open the customizer to see your changes live; when you're happy, click Publish to make them visible on your site.
Part 3 Three rules for a great homepage
- One main action: Decide what you want most from visitors (a call, a booking, a form) and dedicate the hero button to it.
- Show proof: Real photos, real reviews, a clear list of services. Made-up numbers and stock images erode trust.
- Less but better: Six or seven sections are enough for most businesses. Every extra section makes the page longer and slower.
Your homepage is also where search engines first get to know your site. Stating what you do and which city you're in in the headline helps people find you in search. We cover the SEO side in first steps with the SEO center.
Part 4 Sections by plan
On the free Starter plan, you can reorder, show, hide and edit your homepage sections. The Professional plan unlocks every section type, advanced style settings and the drag-and-drop page builder. Section types not included in your plan appear locked in the panel; to upgrade, go to Settings › My plan and billing.
If I hide a section, is its content deleted?
No. A hidden section simply isn't shown on your site; its text and images are kept.
How many sections should a homepage have?
There's no fixed number; for most small businesses 5–7 sections are both enough and fast. Make sure each section answers a single question.
Does section order affect SEO?
Content matters, not order. Still, having a headline and text that explain what you do near the top of the page helps both visitors and search engines.
Edit your homepage Reorder your sections, hide the ones that aren't ready and update your copy. Go to the Homepage screen
